Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 30, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Mr Muffin uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) when you use our application at mrmuffinapp.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We also use browser local storage and session storage, which work in a similar way and are covered by this policy. These technologies allow the app to remember your session and preferences so it works correctly.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required to sign you in, keep your session active, protect against fraud and abuse, and process payments securely. These cannot be turned off, as the app cannot function without them.
  • Preference cookies / local storage: remember choices such as your native language, dark mode, audio voice settings and your last opened lesson.
  • Functional and performance data: basic technical information used to keep the app stable and diagnose errors.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not sell or share cookie data with advertisers, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are set by the third-party services we rely on to run the app. We do not control these cookies, and their use is governed by each provider's own policies:

  • Google — for Google Sign-In authentication.
  • Stripe — for secure payment processing and fraud prevention during checkout.
  • Our hosting and infrastructure provider — for delivering the app and maintaining security.

4. How Long Cookies Last

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies and local storage entries remain on your device until they expire or until you delete them — typically for a few days up to twelve months, depending on their purpose (for example, keeping you signed in).

5. Your Consent

Where required by law (including the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, and the UK PECR), we ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are placed on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a secure, functioning service and do not require consent.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by clearing cookies and site data in your browser settings, or by contacting us at contact@mrmuffinapp.com.

6. Managing and Disabling Cookies

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you block cookies, delete existing ones, or be notified when a cookie is set. Instructions are available in the help pages of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and other browsers. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and using the app.

Many browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for interpreting it, we do not respond to Do Not Track signals; however, we do not perform cross-site tracking in any case.

7. Users Outside the EU/EEA

Mr Muffin is available worldwide and we apply the same cookie practices to all users. If the law of your country grants you additional rights regarding cookies or similar technologies (for example in the UK, Switzerland, California, Brazil, Canada, Japan, South Korea, China, India, Australia or elsewhere), you may exercise them by contacting us. Since we do not use advertising or tracking cookies, we do not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising under U.S. state privacy laws.

8. Children

We do not use cookies to profile or target children. Use of the app by minors is subject to the age requirements in our Terms & Conditions.

9. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in legal requirements. Material changes will be announced in the app, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
